- How can I delete my profile or homepage?
To delete your account, enter your profile and click on the cog wheel on the right top to administrate your profile. Select the link "delete account". If you only want to delete your home page, please select the cog wheel located above the link of your home page on the left, lower side.
- What should I do if I have no further access to my profile but nonetheless want to delete it?
Please send an email to tech@zap.lu with the following:
1) a proof of your identity, such as a copy (scanned) of your driver's license or any other official document provided with your photo (unfortunately we can not delete a page unless we are sure the page really belongs to you)
2) the URL of your profile (www. ___)
3) the e-mail address which was used for creating the profile (if still known)
- What should I do when someone else posted a picture of me without my permission?
If you want a photo to be deleted and you owe a profile, please enlarge the picture and click on the prohibition sign in the right upper corner. Please do also indicate why the photo should be deleted.
If you do not have a profile at ZAP, please send an e-mail to contact@zap.lu and add the link of the photo, the reason why it should be deleted and a proof that it is you who is visible on the photo.
- How can I protect my profile?
If you do not wish to make your profile accessible for everyone, change your private settings by entering your profile and clicking on the cog wheel in the right upper corner. Use the link "private settings" to adjust the settings to your needs. Further information about how you can protect yourself can be found using the link "child safety" on the bottom of the page.
- Why do my profile pictures always get deleted?
Zap.lu checks all photos and pictures to make sure that none of them violate against our general terms of use (e.g. pornography or pedophilia). We mainly do this to protect our users. Photos which are not accepted by us, will be deleted automatically and the user receives a notification. The profile picture should present the user himself, so that all other users are aware of who they are communicating with. Pictures of tattoos, children, cars and animals should be uploaded in an album and not as a profile picture.
- What should I do to get no further emails from Zap.lu?
If you are still a member of Zap.lu, please enter your profile and click the cog wheel on the right upper side of the page to administrate it. Using the link "Newsletter settings", you may now select if, when and under which circumstances you want to receive further e-mails from Zap.lu.
If you have already unsubscribed but continue receiving e-mails, please click the link "click here if you do not want to receive further e-mails" which you will find on the bottom of the e-mail.
- Why does my description not appear on my profile right away ?
You have two options to create your description. The first on is a „free description“, allowing you to write full sentences, which will be immediately visible on your profile. To do so, you need to enter „general descriptions“ on your profile followed by clicking the small cog wheel. A box with a white, empty text field will appear, giving you enough space to enter your free description.
Additionally the box contains questions which you may answer now. The answers to those questions should be single words only, as they serve as filtering elements of the system. For example: How would others describe you? Answer: sympathetic.
The most common answers are already saved in our system, so if you start typing a word, all possible words containing those letters will appear. If you select the appropriate word, it will turn green and immediately be visible on your profile.
If you enter a new word into the system, which has not been known to it yet, it will turn red.
This word will only be published on your profile after it has been confirmed by Zap.lu.
- Who do I contact if I have a problem?
At the bottom of every page on Zap.lu, you will find a link to our contact & support pages. Please select the appropriate e-mail address for your problem.
